  1. I love the title, Climbing Out of the Well! Please continue to climb, my friend! You are worth it!

    • Thank you but I think the title came from God.. not me. I was ‘inspired’ to put this blog together where I could be my real, true, and ugly self.
Thank you for the encouragement to keep climbing. I hope to be doing that for the life I have left.

  2. Want to encourage you too Dear One! Something I read over at Mel Wild’s Blog In My Father’s House:
“Jesus came to give us everlasting life and not perish. The word “perish,” like in John 3:16, can mean “rendered useless.” So, when we receive Christ our lives are not wasted. We now have the opportunity to live a fulfilling life with real meaning and purpose. But it’s also means so much more than that.

Here’s my paraphrased version of the very familiar John 3:16 passage. I paraphrased it, I believe accurately, so that you could see something wonderful, maybe something you have not caught before.

“For God is a Father who loves you so much that He gave His only begotten Son, so that you would believe in Him and not be rendered useless, but be able to enter into God’s very own life.” John 3:16 (My paraphrase)”

Love the way he breaks this familiar verse down. As you climb out of the well, you are ministering to others who are still in the muck and mire at the bottom. You have not been rendered useless and have entered into God’s very own life!

    • I like your paraphrase. It’s funny but you seemed to have hit the nail on the head with the idea about uselessness. Most of my life I have thought of myself as a useless waste of skin and bone with nothing to contribute to the world we live in. But I have been working with a spiritual mentor for 2 years now and I’m actually getting to a place where I feel I might have something to give.

      • Sorry took so long… watching our boys’ high school team loose in football 😦 Oh well, live to play another day! I’ve just started following this blog and have gotten much from Mel’s teaching. http://melwild.wordpress.com YOU have MUCH to give! because you are a child of God! The problem is we often don’t think what we’re giving is worth anything. I’m sure you’ve heard all this. Praying for you and Praising Him with you 🙂

    • I’m doing my best to be honest, but it’s hard for me to do. I’ve worn a mask my whole life and this makes it very difficult to just be myself. But I’m trying and doing the best I can. Blogging helps because I can write better than I can talk (which isn’t all that great) … and it’s safer for me in that my parents never read my journals. They controlled my every move and my every word… but they never knew I kept a journal.

  9. Our spiritual change is the perfect example of that all things are possible with God! Look at the change inwardly and outwardly in our lives, what we eat spiritually, nourishes us and feeds others outwardly. I love this blog also my friend!

    • Thank you Wendell for such kind comments. And for taking the time to write to me.

I am definitely a ‘living’ example of this fact, that God can… and will… work miracles in the lives of His children when he ask him. One time I didn’t have a clue about what was wrong with me so I asked Him to “Fix me however I need to be fixed”. This is when He took my nebulous and constant anxiety away from me. The anxiety was so pervasive that I didn’t even know I had it until He took it. “Isn’t that the way all people live?” I thought.

  10. Dear Climbthewell,
This is in response to your message regarding the fact that when I was a child, I had a place to go but you had no place to go. In reading your blog, I see you are a Christian and have a strong faith in God. Yes, I did have my church to go to when I was a child, but God was there for you, too. Maybe you were not aware at the time, and I know you suffered as a child, but God was there. That’s why you are here, now.
